KUALA LUMPUR — May 28, 2020: Action will not be taken against foreigners whose visas or social visit passes expired with the imposition of the movement control order from March 18.

This is because Immigration and related government agencies were closed for the most part during this period.

Foreigners who want to make an outbound travel only need to show their return tickets at the airport.

Those who are keen to stay longer can renew their visas online, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at his daily press conference today.

The same applies to foreigners with expired social visit passes.

The Home Ministru had on March 20 issued guidelines for foreigners with expired visa permits or passes which said they will be allowed to return to their home countries without having to renew the documents.

This applies to foreigners who are holders of the social visit pass, temporary employment pass, expatriate pass, student pass, dependant pass and Malaysia My Second Home pass.
