KUALA LUMPUR – July 5, 2018: The daughter of former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has described the government’s action against her father as vindictive, following what she said was an order to freeze her personal bank account along that of her 10-month-old baby.

Nooryana Najwa wrote in a Facebook post that her account was frozen after she posted bail for her father yesterday.

“Immediately after I posted bail with money collected from friends and relatives, my bank said it had instructions to freeze my own account which I use to pay for my own school fees,” said Nooryana.

She also claimed that her ten-month-old son’s bank account, with RM100 duit Raya in it, was also frozen.

“Is the government so vindictive that they want to eliminate our entire family? What does a baby’s duit raya have anything to do with 1MDB?”

“Is this the new Malaysia people were praying for?” she asked.

The post has since gone viral in cyberspace.

Najib was yesterday charged with three counts of criminal breach of trust and one count of abuse of power in connection with SRC International Sdn. Bhd.

Najib was allowed a bail of RM1 million in two sureties. Najwa and her brother Norashman posted the bail.
