KOTA KINABALU — Aug. 24, 2018: Former Sabah chief minister Tan Sri Musa Aman, who was today scheduled to be sworn in as Sungai Sibuga assemblyman, failed to turn up at the State Legislative Assembly.
Deputy Speaker Datuk Ahmad Abdul Rahman said Musa was to have taken his oath at 2.30 pm.
“A few days ago we received a letter from Musa’s side on the matter (swearing in) but we have been informed Musa was not present today.
“However we don’t know why he could not attend,” Ahmad said to reporters.
However Musa has until September 11 to be sworn in, as stipulated in the state constitution.
Prior to this, Musa did not attend the swearing in as he was undergoing medical treatment in London several days after the May 9 general elections and returned to Malaysia only two days ago to be hospitalised at a private hospital in Subang Jaya. — Bernama
