KUALA LUMPUR – May 21, 2015: Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had denied that he is against the leadership of his boss, Datuk Seri Najib Razak following the release of a video clip featuring his speech on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue that went viral today.

He was quoted during a press conference at the Parliament today as saying that he was just sharing his opinion on the matter. as well as other current issues affecting the country during a recent close-door Umno function.

“For me, I was just sharing my views with fellow political leaders so that they would have better understanding of the situation in the country.

“This issue (concerning 1MDB) is not new as I have spoken about it publicly before. The important part is that we want a solution to this issue,” he said.

He added that his suggestions to sack the 1MDB board of directors and call for a police investigation were just an advice for Najib and not to defy the Umno president’s leadership.

Pro-Umno blogger Dr MiM in his latest posting which highlighted Muhyiddin’s explanation on the matter questioned the motive behind the spreading of the video clip that is believed to have been recorded secretly.

He called on the Umno leadership to look into the matter and take stern action against the responsible individuals.

The video clip became a hot topic of discussion in the cyberspace after blogger Firdaus Abdullah of Apanama uploaded the video on his Youtube account yesterday before attaching it to a post on his site, today.

The video has since triggered media attention and reported by several news portals.

Meanwhile, Federal Territory Umno youth chief Mohd Razlan Rafii said that instead of bickering with one another over such issues, party members should instead stay united and search for the culprit who was responsible in making and causing the video to go viral.

“It was a closed door event; supposedly no one is allowed to record the session. I believe this is the work of a mole trying to pit Umno members against each other.

“For me what Muhyiddin said in the video is not a big issue, in fact he has spoken about his dissatisfaction against 1MDB  three times in the past,” he said.

Mohd Razlan added that the real issue at hand is that Umno apparently have traitors in its midst and that members should do what they can to apprehend them.

Umno Petaling Jaya Utara deputy chief Azli Muhamad told The Mole that misinterpretation over somebody’s statement is common and people have to think carefully for themselves when presented with materials such as the video clip.

“Whatever that goes on the cyberspace cannot be fully trusted but I partially agree with what Muhyiddin had said as  1MDB  board of directors should be answering all allegations made against them.

“However, I believe the investigation on 1MDB should not halt its operation altogether such as by sacking all of the company’s board of directors members,” he said.

Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi when contacted said he was seen in the video clip as the Umno function was a training session for party leaders and members held recently.

He said he was there in his capacity as Umno training bureau chairman.

Meanwhile The Mole had obtained a picture taken from an angle which shows the person who allegedly recorded the video clip which went viral today.
