KUALA LUMPUR — Aug. 28, 2018: The prosecution did not proceed with the alleged misappropriation of rural infrastructure development funds in Sabah involving former federal minister and now Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd. Shafie Apdal due to insufficient evidence.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Liew Vui Keong told the Dewan Negara that after the investigation paper was submitted to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on last May 23, it was decided on June 20 not to proceed with the prosecution.

Liew said no special treatment was accorded to the Member of Parliament for Semporna. — Bernama
