MBSA officers and trader remanded over Sungai Buloh issue

These MBSA officers are on remand for a week to be investigated over allegedly taking bribes.

PUTRAJAYA — Aug. 12, 2020: Four enforcement officers with the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) are being remanded until Tuesday next week for allegedly collecting bribes from businesses in Sungai Buloh.

Also remanded is a trader from Aceh for allegedly bribing the officers RM300 a month.

The three officers from the Sungai Buloh MBSA branch and one from Shah Alam were arrested at the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission headquarters after giving their statements.

Their arrests followed two video clips posted on the Hot Burger Malaysia Facebook page which claimed that no action had been taken by the authorities against illegal businesses and gambling outlets in the area.
