KUALA LUMPUR – September 12, 2019:  The hastag #AmpunTuanku, ‘Her Majesty’ and ‘Permaisuri Agong’ has taken three of the top four trending topics in Twitter at the moment.

It was a call by many Malaysians for Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah to reactivate her Twitter account.

The queen who is famous for being social media-friendly had deactivated her account yesterday.

Although she never said why, many believed that it was the result of cyber bullying.

One of them is Asrul Muzaffar, who expressed his sadness and questioned how some Malaysians can be so hostile towards Tunku Azizah.

“Woke up to the sad news that DYMM Raja Permaisuri Agong had deactivated her Twitter account due to negative comments by some stupid Malaysians. How can some people harbour such ill-intention,” wrote Asrul.

Khairul Hafidz, who is a doctor was also saddened by the news of the queen deactivating her Twitter account.

“Is it because of some Malaysians were being disrespectful in social media? We want the queen to come back, and bring back all the positivity she showed to us all this while,” wrote Khairul.

May Azhar on Twitter confessed that she never really cared much about the monarchy until recently.

“They (the current Yang DiPertuan Agong and his wife) are so close to the people. Our Permaisuri Agong is a mom to Malaysians. #AmpunTuanku please come back,” she pleaded.

Lisa, in expressing her wish  for Tunku Azizah to once again active on Twitter wrote that many are missing the queen’s motherly touch in the social media.

“Ampun Tuanku, but can you please come back. I miss our Permaisuri Agong, our Twitter mother,” wrote Lisa.

Some were so upset by what happened that they think the queen should not be bothered to make a comeback on Twitter.

One of them, Shafiqah Othman believes that it is for the best that the queen not be subjected to cyber bullying.

“Raja Permaisuri Agong literally only post about her husband, her children, and her kittens. Only a hateful person would be bitter about things like that. We’re so mean for absolutely no goddamn reason. Maybe it is true that royalty shouldn’t bother with lowly people like us,” she wrote.
