Malaysia and Japan ink MoC on information and communications

PUTRAJAYA, Jan 17 2017 : Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak and Japan’s Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Sanae Takaichi signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) on information and communications here today.

The signing was witnessed by the ministry’s secretary-general Datuk Seri Dr Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad and the Japanese Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Makio Miyagawa.

The MoC aims to enhance cooperation in the field of information technology, especially the use of information and communication technology for disaster management, ICT aspect of cybersecurity, Mobile Digital Wallet, 5G and Internet of Things (IoT).

With the signing of the MoC, both countries agree to encourage activities in broadcasting sector such as co-production in broadcasting productions including digital content, conduct exchanges of expertise as well as cooperation in digital-related systems for the benefit of both countries. – Bernama
