KUALA LUMPUR — December 2, 2015: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commision (MACC) last Sunday recorded a statement from businessman Low Taek Jho or Jho Low and SRC International Sdn. Bhd. director Datuk Suboh Md. Yassin abroad.

MACC deputy chief commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Mohd. Shukri Abdull however last night said that he had yet to read the statements recorded by his officers regarding the company and a political funding of RM2.6 billion.

On the MACC’s intention to record a statement from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak on the same, Shukri said the commission is waiting for Najib’s response.

“I hope the PM will respond on this as soon as possible but it is all up to him because he is quite busy at the moment,” said Shukri.

On November 12, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed said the commission had contacted the Prime Minister’s Office over the matter and Najib had agreed to have his statement recorded.

Najib on the same day said he would give a statement to the MACC soon after Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali told him that he was required to give a statement to the commission in connection with the issue on political fund so that investigations could be completed as soon as possible.
