KUALA LUMPUR — November 19, 2015: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today revealed that it has recorded a statement from SRC International Sdn. Bhd. (SRC) managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil over issues concerning the company and political funding.
“Two other individuals needed by the MACC have been contacted and efforts are being taken to have their statements recorded,” the commission said in a two-paragraph statement.
Hence, the MACC does not need assistance of the Malaysian police or Interpol to get access to those individuals, the statement said.
Last August 22, MACC investigations director Datuk Azam Baki was reported as saying that the commission would need Nik Faisal and two other individuals, namely SRC director Datuk Suboh Md. Yassin and businessman Low Taek Jho who is also known as “Jho Low”, to contact the MACC immediately to facilitate investigations into the company.
SRC International was a subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Berhad until it was placed under the Finance Ministry in 2012. — Bernama
