KUALA LUMPUR — July 28, 2017: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today confiscated documents relating to the purchase of a hotel in Kuching by  Felda Investment Corporation (FIC).

A team today raided six locations here as well as in Kuching to gather information on the purchase in 2014. A statement said that the agency will be calling several key witnesses to record their statements.

One of the offices raided in KL was believed to have been a well-known international accounting firm.

The investigation papers on the transaction were opened following information obtained by the team while it was investigating the purchase of a hotel in London by the FIC.

Just like the London transaction, the hotel in Kuching is suspected to have been bought at higher than the market price. — Bernama
