KUALA LUMPUR — July 16, 2020: Former minister Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman was again asked to meet the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission today in relation to investigations on the RM250,000 that went missing from a safe in his house in cash missing from his home in March.
This was confirmed in a tweet by Syed himself, in which he explained wby he had to leave the parliament session early.
The agency started investigating after Syed reported the loss of the money kept in the safe, in which he also maintained that only a few persons knew the code to open the safe.
Investigators also seized RM600,000 from the homes of two Pribumi Bersatu party colleagues of Syed in June, saying the money was believed to have been misappropriated from the party.
Syed was also ordered to declare his assets as part of the investigations.
