MELAKA — Aug. 12, 2020: Two policemen from the Tenggara station have been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission on suspicion of soliciting and accepting bribes.

The bribes apparently involved a businessman who flouted the Covid-19 movement control order.

The suspects who were detained last night included the station chief. Cash of RM6,000 was seized from the chief’s office.

State MACC chief Awangkok Ahmad Taufik Putra Awang Ismail confirmed the arrests.
