Lynas achieves one year ‘lost time injury free’

KUALA LUMPUR, July 16  Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd has achieved a one year “lost-time injury free” as of today.

Lost-time injury is an injury that results in time lost from work of one day or shift, or more.

In a statement today, the rare earths mining company said it had implemented world-class safety and health standards at its plant in Gebeng, Kuantan.

Managing director and vice-president Datuk Mashal Ahmad said all of the company’s staff and contractors were safety conscious and followed the Lynas safety and health policy and procedures.

Lynas Malaysia was recently awarded a gold medal in the latest EcoVadis corporate social responsibility (CSR) assessment based on its performance across the environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

It also became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, earlier this year. – Bernama
