KUALA LUMPUR — July 2, 2019: The prosecution intends to prove that a cheque of RM2 million was personally delivered by a businessman to former Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor at his office at the KL City Hall (DBKL).
In her opening statement today, deputy public prosecutor Julia Ibrahim detailed how the cheque from Tan Sri Chai Kin Kong belonging to Aset Kayamas Sdn. Bhd. was later deposited into the account of Tadmansori Holding Sdn. Bhd. in which the politician was the main shareholder.
The prosecution will also prove that Chai, as the director of Aset Kayamas, had hand-delivered a proposal to the accused for the purchase of land to build homes below RM200,000 and non-fixed-priced apartment in Bandar Tun Razak.
Evidence will show that the application to buy the land was rejected by the KL mayor through a letter dated April 3, 2015.
The prosecution will submit evidence showing that Aset Kayamas had continued dealing with the politician regarding the rejection and other matters related to the proposal.
Another point the prosecution wants to proof is that the accused had sought a political donation of up to RM6 million from Chai, which the latter granted. — Bernama
