KUALA LUMPUR — August 1, 2019: An officer with the Umno headquarters finance department could not tell the court why a duplicate of a receipt given by former secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor to a company boss was not in the party’s official receipt book.

Farahdzilah Abd. Kadir, who has been with the Umno HQ since June 2004, testified that the second and third copies were never removed from the receipt book.

The receipt was issued to Aset Kayamas managing director Tan Sri Chai Kin Kong for what was said to be a political donation of RM2 million. Tengku Adnan @ Ku Nan is facing a corruption charge for that amount received from Aset Kayamas in June 2016.

The offence was allegedly committed is his capacity as the then Federal Territories minister relating to some land in Cheras on which Aset Kayamas was going to build homes. — Bernama
