KUALA LUMPUR – July 22, 2020: The Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan 2040 (PSKL 2040) will be gazetted in December this year.

Federal Territories Deputy Minister Dr Edmund Santhara said the process of PSKL 2040 gazettement followed a comprehensive stakeholders engagement sessions as well as consideration of recommendations from public hearing and objection committee.

He told the parliament this today in response to a question on the matter from Khalid Abdul Samad (Amanah-Shah Alam), who was the former federal territories minister.

The draft of PSKL 2040 was completed in January and was publicised for public feedback from Feb 18 to May 18.

Once gazetted, the plan will guide KL’s physical development over the next 20 years with the aim of ensuring enough land to support long-term population and economic growth while maintaining a good living environment.
