SHAH ALAM, Jan 7 2018 : Johor Amanah today boycotted the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Convention due to their dissatisfaction over the allocation of parliamentary seats among the opposition coalition parties in the state.

Its chairman, Aminolhuda Hassan said the drastic measure was taken because the party was only given two parliamentary seats  instead of five which they had requested to contest in Johor for the 14th general election (GE14).

“It is very unreasonable and unfair for us to be given only two seats instead of five which we had asked for.

“We (Johor Amanah) have the second largest membership nationwide compared to that in other states. Moreover, most of our representatives are at the national leadership level. As such, we have decided to leave this convention,” he said when contacted by Bernama.

It was reported that PH’s top leadership had set out to give two instead of five parliamentary seats to Amanah in Johor to contest in the upcoming GE14.

Meanwhile, commenting on the commotion, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu when met, said he would sit with Johor Amanah to discuss their dissatisfaction on the allocation of parliamentary seats in the state.

So far, he said, he had not received any information on the matter. – Bernama
