KUANTAN — Dec. 31, 2019: Firm action will be taken against business premise owners in Pahang who do not use jawi on their signboards from tomorrow.
This is because the state feels that the one-year grace period given was adequate. In fact the ruling was originally planned for a year ago.
’The deadline was then extended to June 30 and then again to today, pointed out state local government and housing committee chairman Abd. Rahim Muda.
He said the use of the jawi script is also in line with the order of the King, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who is also the Sultan of Pahang.
Those who disobey can be fined a maximum of RM250. A repeat offence could mean a revocation of the business licence.
