Honda recalling 55,354 vehicles to replace fuel pump

KUALA LUMPUR — June 18, 2020: Honda Malaysia is recalling several makes from 2018 and last year totalling 55,354 units to replace their fuel pump as a precautionary measure.

This is in line with the brand’s global fuel pump recall.

The affected models are the 2018 Accord, BR-V 2018, Civic 2018, CR-V 2018 & 2019, HR-V & HR-V (HEV) (2018), City 2019 & City (HEV) 2019, Jazz and Jazz (HEV) 2019.

“The company believes this product recall is necessary as a preventive measure to address the possibility of loss of engine power or vehicle stalling.

“All affected customers will be informed via notification letters,” said the company today.

All affected customers are asked to contact any Honda authorised dealer to make an appointment on receipt of notification, subject to parts availability. The replacement is free of charge.

“As of today, there are no incidence of crashes or injuries caused by this issue reported in Malaysia.”

Honda Malaysia also apologises for the inconvenience and reassures that all its year 2020 production models are not affected.
