GEORGE TOWN — Dec. 9, 2019: The defamation suit filed by Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim against former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng relating to the undersea tunnel has been postponed to February 2.

Azeez filed the suit in March last year, claiming that Lim had issued defamatory statements in February last year connecting him with a payment of RM3 million in consultation fee by the developer of the project.

He claimed that the statements gained widespread coverage and were published by several websites, electronic news sites and local newspapers and is thus seeking general and exemplary damages and other relief deemed fit by the court.
