BUTTERWORTH — Dec. 16, 2019: DAP members are being asked to focus on fulfilling the pledges contained in the Pakatan Harapan manifesto instead of being distracted by the power transition plan for the country.
In this respect party secretary-general Lim Guan Eng advises members not to be trapped by what he described as headline-making media reports and instead put their energy into fulfilling what by his reckoning are the remaining 40 per cent of promises in the manifesto that need to be delivered.
He thus asked members not to question the power transition plan which had been decided by the Pakatan leadership. Lim spoke yesterday at the Penang DAP annual convention here.
Another point he told the gathering was for members to listen to the voices of the people and work for their benefit.
“We too have our problems but we should discuss them within closed doors.”
He also touched on the issue of schoolchidren being allowed to sing the national anthem in Mandarin and said the police should not investigate it, which the police said some days ago they were already doing. Lim went to the extent of saying the children were not guilty.
