ALOR STAR — September 2, 2015: PAS assemblyman for Pengkalan Kundor Datuk Phahrolrazi Zawawi today confirmed that he would be joining the new party which is being registered as Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).

The former Kedah PAS deputy commissioner I and state executive councillor said that with this, his membership in PAS would automatically cease.

However, he would remain as assemblyman, he told a news conference here.

On Monday, Gerakan Harapan Baru chairman Mohamad Sabu announced that Amanah could be used as its official political platform.

He said GHB had taken over the Malaysian Workers Party and rebranded it as Parti Amanah Negara, with the details to be submitted to Registrar of Societies for approval.

Kedah Amanah organising chairman Datuk Dr Ismail Salleh, who was present with Sabu, said Kedah Amanah would be officially launched on September 9. — Bernama
