KUALA LUMPUR — Jan. 4, 2018: A total of 11,991 flood victims were recorded by the National Disaster Management Agency’s (Nadma) disaster control centres in Johor, Terengganu, Pahang and Sabah as of 8 pm.
All the states recorded an increase in the number of victims over the past three days. They are being housed at 77 relief centres.
However, the severe weather warnings and alerts have been terminated in all four states.
In Terengganu, the number of people displaced soared to 1,001 this morning compared to 329 last night while in Pahang, the number of evacuees stood at 6,106 people as at 10pm last night compared to 4, 851 people earlier.
According to the Welfare Services Department’s infobanjir portal, Kuantan was the worst hit district with 4,958 victims followed by Rompin which had 652 evacuees.
In Johor, the number of evacuees in Mersing remained at 380 people while in Sabah, the number of victims rose to 489 people as 8 this morning. — Bernama
