SHAH ALAM — Jan. 7, 2020: The Ops Blue Devil operation in Selangor managed to identify 58 police personnel involved in drugs since last August, with five so far charged in court.

Also last year, 62 policemen in the state were dismissed or demoted while action was also taken against 115 for other reasons.

On another matter, Selangor police chief Datuk Noor Azam Jamaludin said 19,810 criminal cases were reported compared to 21,338 in 2018, with 12,232 cases successfully solved.

He considered 2019 to be a success for the state’s Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department as raids led to the discovery of large amounts of drugs.

The department’s biggest success was the haul of 3.2 tonnes of cocaine and 500 kilogrammes of ketamine in Shah Alam that led to the arrest of 13 suspects.
