KUALA LUMPUR — July 6, 2017: EzCab has introduced the first e-hailing application in Malaysia to offer the SOS button feature for the safety of users.

Backed up by a customer service centre operating 24 hours a day and seven days a week, EzCab has developed loyal users that demand reliability and security.

“Of late, there have been many incidents with criminal elements involving e-hailing app drivers and passengers.  We applaud SPAD (Land Public Transport Commission) for coming up with the regulation and we are very happy to be the first to comply,” EzCab executive director Nor Aleeshah Abdullah told reporters here today.

At present there are about 2,000 taxi drivers registered under EzCab in Klang Valley, Seremban, Johor Bahru and Sabah.

The SOS button will appear on the right-hand side of the ‘On Board’ screen when a passenger steps into a taxi and begins the journey.

In case of emergency, a passenger simply needs to tap on the SOS button and will be given three options – to directly call the police (999), directly call an emergency contact or to request a call-back from EzCab’s 24/7 customer support centre. — Bernama
