PUTRAJAYA — Feb. 8, 2019: Former PAS deputy president Datuk Nasharudin Mat Isa today handed over documents and financial statements to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) relating to the investigation on the alleged donation from Umno to PAS using money from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Nasharuddin also handed over personal financial information and several bank statements asked for, including the financial accounts of the Global Movement of Moderates Foundation (GMMF) where he is executive chairman.
Speaking to reporters after being at MACC for over four hours, Nasharudin said the interview was used to explain matters concerning sources of finance and how money was spent.
“I am thankful to the MACC for acting swiftly on the police report lodged recently concerning the alleged RM90 million donation,” he said.
Besides Nasharudin, Parti Amanah Negara vice-president Datuk Husam Musa was also reported to have been called today on the same issue. Husam, when contacted later, said he was in Kelantan and not informed about the MACC interview.
Husam, also a former PAS vice-president, had once claimed that he had details on the donation. They were among four individuals reported to be listed by the MACC as key witnesses.
PAS central committee member Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz was at the Kelantan MACC office today on the same matter. — Bernama
