IPOH — Jan. 24, 2020: Eight people have been isolated for monitoring at a hotel in Johor Baru for symptoms related to the Wuhan coronavirus after they had contact with a man confirmed to have the virus in Singapore.

“They are just being observed in case they develop any symptoms. So far, there are no symptoms but they will be monitored for a week,” said Deputy Health Minister Dr. Lee Boon Chye after checking preparations to handle any virus-related incident at the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport here today.

The eight had arrived in Singapore on Monday with a 66-year-old Chinese national from Wuhan who was later tested positive for the virus.

Lee said all the four suspected cases in Malaysia so far tested negative.
