This highly regarded chain of programmes was mooted in line with Malaysia’s vision to be a sustainable high-end industrial and technological based country, supported by a macroeconomic framework.

The four offset tripartite contracts which are in parallel to the EEP contract were signed between the Government of Malaysia, DEFTECH and technological partners – FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.S (Turkey); Denel Land Systems (South Africa); Rheinmetall A.G (Germany) and WB Electronics (Poland).

The contracts were signed during the 16th Defence Services Asia (DSA 2018) in MITEC.  The Malaysian government was represented by Defence Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Mohamad Radzi.

The AV8 GEMPITA 8×8 wheeled armoured fighting vehicle is already in service with the Malaysian Army.
