Man in Rela case faces two drug charges

KUALA LUMPUR — November 6, 2017: The datuk seri businessman who was a few days ago charged with injuring three Rela personnel was today charged in two courts of taking drugs in February 2014.

Liow Soon Hee, 29, first claimed trial at a magistrate’s court to taking methamphetamine and later did the same at another magistrate’s court to aanother charge of taking the same drug type.

Magistrate Namirah Hanum Mohamed Albaki set RM2,000 as bail with one surety and an additional condition that Liow must report to the nearest police station once a month. She set December 4 for remention.

In Ampang, magistrate Haslinda A. Raof set RM3,000 as bail with one surety who must be a Malaysian citizen and Dec. 14 for remention.

On Friday, Liow claimed trial to one charge of voluntarily causing grievous hurt, one charge of using criminal force to obstruct a public servant from carrying out his duty and two counts of voluntarily causing hurt.

He allegedly committed the offences on the Rela personnel at the compound of a Chinese temple in Kampung Baru Ampang on October 27.
