PETALING JAYA — April 9, 2018: The DAP’s Kepong Member of Parliament for the past eight terms, Dr. Tan Seng Giaw, 75, has been dropped for the 14th general elections.

Tan, who has been Kepong MP since 1982, will be replaced by Lim Lip Eng,  a two-term  Segambut MP. Lim’s place will be taken over by Hannah Yeoh, a two-term Subang Jaya assemblyman.

The announcement on these changes was made by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng during an election briefing for parliamentary constituencies in Kuala Lumpur today.

Three incumbents — Tan Kok Wai (Cheras), Fong Kui Lun (Bukit Bintang) and Teresa Kok (Seputeh) — will be  defending their seats.

The DAP will contest six of the 11 parliamentary seats in KL.

Parliament was dissolved last Saturday to make way for GE14, the date of which is expected to be announced by the Election Commission tomorrow. — Bernama
