PUTRAJAYA — July 28, 2020: The yo-yo in the confirmation of daily new cases continues today, with 39 in the last 24 hours compared to only seven the previous day. This is the highest daily total since June 15.
Twenty-eight of the latest cases were local transmissions, 22 of them Malaysians. There were also six recoveries while the number of active cases has increased to 212.
Of the locals infected, 19 were in Sarawak, which of late has been the new transmission epicentre in the country, two in Sabah and one in Kedah.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said the Sentosa cluster in Sarawak recorded nine new cases and the Kuching engineering cluster four.
Another two new clusters were also detected — the Sivagangga cluster in Kedah and the Satok cluster in Sarawak.
