KUALA LUMPUR — April 7, 2020: Two flats on Jalan Masjid India that are almost entirely occupied by foreign workers have now been placed under an enhanced movement control order (MCO).
The enhanced MCO was imposed after 15 people of the estimated 6,000 people living in the eight-storey Selangor Mansion and Malayan Mansion tested positive.
Security personnel cordoned off the area surrounding the flats and apart from strict checks on all movements also put up barbed wires.
Both flats are about a five-minute walk away from the Menara City One condominium on Jalan Munshi Abdullah which was late last week also placed under an enhanced MCO.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision on the flats was made as advised by the Health Minister. The order is effective today until all residents have been screened.
The enhanced MCO has so far been enforced in Kampung Sungai Lui in Hulu Langat, Kampung Datuk Ibrahim Majid and Bandar Baharu Datuk Ibrahim Majid in Simpang Renggam.
This status means all non-residents are prohibited from entering or exiting the area while business premises are closed, except those selling essential items.
Residents are allowed to order food that must be sent to and picked up at designated areas.
Residents in these areas who require assistance or have any enquiry may call a hotline at 03-4026 7222 or 016-296 2982.
