KUALA LUMPUR — Aug. 7, 2020: The Sivaganga cluster in north Kedah continued to be a problem, with 12 of the 25 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours coming from there to make the country’s total 9,063.
There are now 210 active cases, with two in the ICU and one on ventilator support.
Of the new cases, 16 were local transmissions effecting 15 Malaysians. The sole foreigner was an undocumented migrant in Johor. Eight of the nine imported cases involved Malaysians.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said 3,246 people linked to the cluster have to date been tested, with 43 positive.
The death toll for the country remains at 125.
