PUTRAJAYA — June 6, 2020: The total number of cases for the country since the first cases were confirmed on January 25 has now reached 8,304 with the latest confirmation of 37 cases in the last 24 hours.
Another 25 patients recovered to bring the number of recoveries to 6,635 or 79.9 per cent.
Eight of the latest confirmations were imported and of the 29 transmitted locally, 19 were foreigners.
There was also another death in the last 24 hours, which means a total fatality of 117. This was a 79-year-old Malaysian woman who was a close contact of another case.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said he did not expect another spike in cases.
