PUTRAJAYA — Sept 1, 2020: Fourteen cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours while a third death in three days brought the total number of deaths since late January to 128, with two of the latest fatalities coming from the Tawar cluster in Kedah.
In addition, a new cluster has been detected in Lahad Datu, Sabah.
The latest cases bring the total for the country to date to 9,354, from which there have also been 9,075 or 97 per cent.
According to Health director-general Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, five of the latest cases were imported.
Of the local transmissions the Tawar and Telaga clusters recorded one new case each. This means there have been 75 positive cases under Tawar and six under Telaga.
