Covid-19: Theme parks to reopen from July 1

KUALA LUMPUR, June 29 2020: Theme parks including will be allowed to resume operations starting July 1.

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, who made the announcement today said park operators must nonetheless adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP) including to ensure social distancing was observed at all times.

The number of visitors to be allowed into each park will be based on the its size and capacity.

The visitors must also register through the MySejahtera application, undergo body temperature screening and be provided with hand sanitisers.

There are 54 theme parks in Malaysia, which employ 10,000 workers.

For water theme parks, Ismail Sabri said the operators must follow the guidelines on the Management and Maintenance of Public Pools by the local authorities, as well as the Monitoring of Pool Quality guidelines.
