PUTRAJAYA — July 13, 2070: Seven new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours, with six of the seven imported.
These most recent confirmations put the total cases in Malaysia at 8,725, with the death toll at 122 and recoveries totalling 8,520.
Four of the imported cases were foreigners who are either permanent residents or allowed into the country for work.
The one local transmission involving a Malaysian was a person who had returned from Russia on July 5.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said the cluster was identified after a third positive case was detected following close contact screening.
The first infection as detected when the man arrived at the airport. The second case was his friend who was on the same flight while the father of the second patient also tested positive.
