JOHOR BARU — May 16, 2020: Senai International Airport has upgraded its procedures and introduced new measures to ensure passengers’ health and safety as airlines resume flights.

Among the new measures and procedures are the requirement for passengers and others to wear face masks and undergo body temperature screening.

Only those with a temperature of below 37.5 degrees Celsius will be allowed to enter the airport.

To ensure implementation, entry and exit to the terminal is limited to the main entrances, said a statement from Senai Airport Terminal Services Sdn. Bhd. (SATS).

To encourage social distancing, SATS has put one-metre separation markings in the common areas including check-in counters, seating areas, boarding gates and baggage pick-up area.

Hand sanitisers, soap and water are also available in the terminal and washrooms.

Passengers are advised to arrive 90 minutes before departure time to avoid long queues and are also encouraged to check-in online.

SATS CEO Md. Derick Basir said the airport had been working closely with the health department even before the movement control order was imposed from March 18.

Retailers and other tenants at the airport have also been requested to follow the standard operating procedure guidelines of the MCO.
