PUTRAJAYA — April 3, 2020: Another 217 cases were recorded in the last 24 hours to bring the country’s total to 3,333 as of 5pm today. This is an increase from the previous day’s 208, after the curve flattened for five straight days.
Of the new cases, 58 were linked to the tabligh cluster from the Sri Petaling mosque gathering.
The number of deaths was up by three to make a total of 53. One hundred and eight patients are in intensive care, with 54 on ventilators.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said a further 60 patients have been discharged, which makes the total number of recoveries 827 or a rate of 24.8%.
One of the deaths reported today was that of a female Malaysian aged 84 who had a history of heart disease. The other was a local man aged 52 who was treated at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Negri Sembilan while the other was a female Malaysian aged 73 who also had diabetes, high blood pressure, heart and kidney problems.
