PUTRAJAYA — Sept. 4, 2020: A new cluster has been detected at the Immigration depot in Semenyih, where three individuals including a detainee awaiting deportation tested positive.
The other two cases were Immigration officers who had accompanied the detainee to a health clinic.
Today the health ministry reported 11 new infections in the last 24 hours, pushing the total number of cases in the country to 9,385.
Nine patients were also discharged to bring the total recoveries to 9,092.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that of the 11 cases, four were local transmissions involving three Malaysians. The seven imported cases all involved foreigners.
