PUTRAJAYA — April 23, 2020: The 71 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours has brought the total number of cases in the country to 5,603, of whom 3,542 have recovered.
There were also two more recent deaths to bring the number of fatalities to 95. Forty-two of the patients are in intensive care, with 21 on ventilators.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said today that one of the two fatalities was a 32-year-old healthcare worker who had high blood pressure. She was a close contact of a patient from Muar.
The other was a 67-year-old man who had high blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems. He was a close contact of a patient from the Kuantan “Bali” cluster.
