PUTRAJAYA — Sept. 10, 2020: After a drop the previous day, the number of cases confirmed in the last 24 houts shot back up, to 45, of which 40 were from the Benteng cluster in Sabah.
The total for the country now is 9,628.
There are now a total of 170 positive cases in the Benteng cluster, with 87 in Lahad Datu and 83 in Tawau.
Lack of physical distancing among is being blamed for the fast infection, with many of the cases involving undocumented migrants caught during a multi-agency operation on September 2.
The other new latest cases were from the Telaga and Sungai clusters and one at the Simpang Kuala health centre — all in Kedah.
There are currently 333 active cases in the country, with nine in intensive care and five on ventilators.
With the 24 discharged also in the last 24 hours, recoveries now total 9,167 while the death toll remains at 128.
