PUTRAJAYA — April 10, 2020: One hundred and eighteen new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, up by 9 compared to the previous day but there was improvement in the number of recoveries at 222 to make a total of 1,830 out of 4,346 cases.
But there were also three more deaths to bring the total to 70 or a fatality rate of 1.6%.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said today that 69 patients are in intensive care, with 40 on ventilators.
One of the latest deaths was a 62-year-old Malaysian man from Sabah who also had diabetes and was a close contact of a patient from the Sri Petaling tabligh cluster.
Another was a 77-year-old man who also had diabetes and the third an 88-year-old woman with high blood pressure and dementia. She was a close contact of a positive patient.
