PUTRAJAYA — July 10, 2020: There were five local transmissions among the 13 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, with three of the former involving Malaysians. This brings the total cases to 8,696 but 9,511 or 97.9 per cent have recovered.
Of the eight imported cases, six were Malaysians and the other two foreigners with permanent resident status.
This most recent confirmation also means Malaysia’s daily new cases have jumped back into the double-digit category after being in single digit for five straight days.
The death toll remains at 121 and has been so since June 14.
Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement that the quarantine and treatment centre at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang will close on July 15 after recently discharging its last patient.
