KUALA LUMPUR — April 23, 2020:The movement control order (MCO) which is due to end of April 28 will be extended by a further two weeks — the third extension since it was first enforced on March 18.

In announcing this today, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the government would consider easing some restrictions in stages if cases continued to show a sharp decrease.

Based on the latest statistics, the number of recovered patients is now 3,542, which is 63.2% of the total number of cases detected since January 25.

The MCO was imposed after the number of cases began to spike.
