PUTRAJAYA — July 17, 2020: Malaysians formed the majority of the 18 new cases confirmed in the last 24 hours, with 10 of the cases imported and affecting seven locals.
The latest confirmations bring the total cases in Malaysia to 8,755, of whom 8,541 have recovered.
Of the local infections, six were Malaysians, four of them from Sarawak.
Four new clusters were also identified — the Sarawak Medical Centre, Pitakwa in Terengganu, Shirala in Kuala Lumpur and Jupiter.
According to a statement from Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, three patients are in intensive care.
