PUTRAJAYA — Aug. 6, 2020: Fifteen new cases were confirmed in the last 24 hours, with 10 of them locally transmitted and affecting eight Malaysia. This brings the total for the country to 9,038.
There were also 11 recoveries to make a total of 8,713 or 96.4%.
Three of the five imported cases involved Malaysians, with four cases originating in the Philippines.
According to Health director-general Datuk Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah, six of the Malaysians affected were from the Sivaganga cluster in north Kedah.
A total of 2,351 people connected to the cluster had been screened as of today, with 30 positive, 1,617 negative and the rest awaiting results.
