PUTRAJAYA — Sept. 11, 2020: The last 24 hours recorded a huge spike in new cases, with 182 confirmed, making it the highest daily total since the 277 confirmed last June 4. Only one case was imported.
The Benteng cluster in Sabah alone recorded 167 cases, of whom 91 were foreigners, while the Sungai cluster had 11 cases and the Telaga cluster recorded three. Both are in Kedah.
The sole imported case involved a Filipino, according to a statement by Health director-general Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The spike has pushed up the country’s overall total of cases to 9,810 while the death toll remains unchanged at 128 for the 10th straight day. The number of recoveries is 9,181 or 93.6 per cent.
