KUALA LUMPUR — May 1, 2020: The Express Rail Link (ERL) between the city and KL International Airport (KLIA) will resume on Monday with limited services.

Apart from less frequencies, the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit will be combined. The usual 237 trips per day will be reduced to 78.

ERL’s new operating hours will now be from 6am to 11pm instead of 5am to 1am. It has has also adjusted the 15-minute interval to 20 minutes during peak periods and from 20 minutes to 30 minutes off-peak.

The peak periods have been adjusted to between 7am and 9am and between 4pm and 6pm.

On weekends, trains will run at 30-minute intervals.

With the combination of the two services, a train will now take seven minutes longer or 35 minutes for a trip between KL Sentral and KLIA.

ERL Sdn. Bhd. said in a statement that the limited services would be carried out for a month and then reviewed.

ERL is also practising social distancing on board the trains and at stations. Body temperature screening will be carried at the departing stations and passengers are advised to wear a face mask.
